Review of Coursera Course: “Stanford Introduction to Food and Health“
Stanford University offers this free course on the online learning platform “Coursera”. All course materials are available for all users, with the option to purchase a certificate once completed.
It’s a well-rated course, with an average user rating of 4.6! It runs for a period of 5 weeks, but you’re able to work at your own pace, as well.
The information is presented in a manner that’s easy to understand. An ideal course for absolute beginners. Also for those looking to adopt healthier habits, and a better understanding of nutrition in their personal lives!
In addition, it offers subtitles in Czech, German, Russian, and Spanish. Closed captioning in English, too.
As presented in the course’s page:
“This course will shift the focus away from reductionist discussions about nutrients and move, instead, towards practical discussions about real food and the environment in which we consume it. By the end of this course, learners should have the tools they need to distinguish between foods that will support their health and those that threaten it. In addition, we will present a compelling rationale for a return to simple home cooking, an integral part of our efforts to live longer, healthier lives.”
